Step #1 (Drawings and Sketches):

Have an idea or want to make something that is one of a kind? This is where the jeweler's and/or customer's ideas come to life. Discussing and plotting out on paper what they want to create.

Step #2 (Wax Carving):

Once the piece has been drawn, the jeweler then takes a blank or piece of wax and begins to carve and shape it. Smoothing the wax and shaving away the unneeded material to expose the design that was established previously. In this stage, the jeweler is able to better refine the idea and allow the customer to view it as an object before being casted.

Step #3 (Rough Casting):

Not quite what is seen in the show cases. This is directly after the wax has been prepped and metal has been shot making a cast. How jewelry originally looks, before anymore work is done to it by a jeweler.

Step #4 (Cleaned Casting):

Now it has the finish you envisioned it having. To arrive at this stage, the jeweler has spent countless hours paying attention to the detail, cleaning, and polishing of the metal to achieve the desired look. The seats for any desired stones are drilled and prepped; all that is left is to set them.

Step #5 (Completed Piece):

Once a drawing or idea, all work on the piece of jewelry is now complete. This piece is now ready to be taken home, enjoyed, and shown off.
